Early Chilhood

Early Childhood means an Early Start for Your Scholar’s Future. DeSoto ISD now offers Full Day PreK3, PreK4 and Kindergarten.

Parents can enroll their three- and four-year old students in a DeSoto ISD pre-kindergarten program at Amber Terrace Discovery and Design Early Childhood Academy located at 224 Amber Lane in DeSoto.

Families interested in exploring early childhood options in DeSoto ISD can call to schedule a tour of the campus which focuses on delivering specialized instruction at a campus solely designated for pre-kindergarten students.

Why Early Childhood Experiences Matter

Data shows that students who attend DeSoto Independent School District Pre-K and stay with the district significantly outperform peers by third grade.

Children who attend an early childhood educational program are more likely to go to college, are proven to out-earn their peers across lifetime salary earnings and are more likely to become homeowners.

Exposure to early childhood educations sets your child on a trajectory of success for the future by providing a well-rounded academic foundation today.

Pre-K and kindergarten education is extremely beneficial to providing students a solid early foundation for learning. DeSoto ISD wants to build a continuum upon that early exposure by making our three- and four-year old program at Amber Terrace and the district wide kinder programs at each campus more easily accessible.

The demand for early childhood education is clear here in DeSoto ISD and, with the support of the Head Start program, we are continuing to increase and improve the quality of what we are able to offer our early childhood scholars to establish a great foundation for learning.
