Lunch & Learn Information

As school districts across the country prepare to reopen schools, DeSoto Independent School District seeks to alleviate parent and student concerns about the upcoming school year. Beginning at noon on Friday, August 28, 2020, DeSoto ISD will host a virtual Back-to-School Lunch and Learn.

The district invites parents, staff, and students to participate in the event to gain useful insight into how the school system plans to operate in the upcoming school year.

“During a time where there’s so much uncertainty, we want to make sure that parents felt comfortable as we begin the school year,” said DeSoto ISD Superintendent of Schools D’Andre Weaver Ph.D. “Our goal is to provide exceptional educational opportunities for every student within our system no matter where instruction is set to take place.

The Lunch & Learn will take place via the video conference platform - Zoom. Participants are asked to pre-register for the event in order to receive access to the live meeting. Additionally, during the registration process interested participants may opt to submit questions to be read aloud during the event by a district employee or indicate if they would like to read their own.

Members of the DeSoto ISD leadership team will be available to answer questions regarding safety protocols and procedures, navigating the Anytime, Anywhere Learning platform, device distribution and other re-entry information.

For those unable to attend the August 28th event, the District plans to post a recording of the event on its Facebook and YouTube pages. Those who wish to participate can pre-register at TinyURL.com/DeISDLunchAndLearn.
