About Mr. Baty


Darrell Baty

Darrell is a native of the Dallas area. After graduating from North Mesquite High School, he graduated from Jacksonville College with both an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science. He graduated from The University of North Texas with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. He graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Masters in Educational Administration. While in college, he was named to the Dean's List, the President's List, received awards for academic distinction in history and religion, was Student Government Vice-President, and graduated with honors.

Darrell has taught and been the team lead for math, science, and ESL at elementary, middle, and high school levels. He has served as the assistant principal at both Cockrell Hill Elementary and Curtistene S. McCowan Middle School, and was the principal of DeSoto ISD Middle School Summer School. During his service, he has been named Educator of the Year and been awarded the Lifetime PTA Membership.

Darrell Is currently serving as the Supervisor of Instructional Technology at DeSoto ISD and looks forward to continuing to make a positive difference to the stakeholders in the district.

Darrell is a licensed and ordained minister, having served as a youth pastor and senior pastor at various churches in the East Texas and Dallas areas. He has worked in children's ministry, youth ministry, men's ministry, prison ministry, and gang ministry.Darrell has been married to his beautiful bride since 1998 and has two wonderful and handsome sons with whom he enjoys spending time.

Darrell's hobbies are music, travel, coffee, and baseball.
